We see pediatric patients for medical and/or surgical eye issues.
MEDICAL: Dr. Pav has over 25 years of experience in evaluating and treating the entire range of pediatric eye problems in a loving and kid-friendly environment. Many kids are sent to us because they failed a vision screen at school or at their pediatrician’s office; some have had something get in their eye or have scratched their eye and are sent from the emergency room, or when we receive an urgent parent phone call that morning. Sometimes, parents are worried about their child’s eyes because they seem to be getting headaches or doing poorly in school and they bring them in for an evaluation. Whatever your reason, please be assured that here at POASF we will do our utmost to figure out what is going on and, together with the family, create a treatment plan to deal with the issue, or if everything checks out “ok,” give reassurance to the child that their eyeballs are working well.
SURGICAL: While we always prioritize medical /nonsurgical approaches to try to heal as much as we can, some eye issues may require surgery, particularly severe eye misalignment / crossing / drifting, double vision, large styes / chalazia, tear duct obstructions, orbital tumors, etc. Dr. Pav has been performing eye surgery for over 25 years. He is a board certified ophthalmic surgeon and is on staff at Mary Washington and Stafford Hospitals, as well as the Fredericksburg Ambulatory Surgery Center (FASC).
